'Please Be Kind To Target Employees'
I was there last night, loading up on all my favourites, which I won't be able to get anymore: Target paper towels, Target toilet paper, Target kleenex, Target bubble bath, Target q-tips, Target napkins, Target garbage bags, Target cleanser, Target Earl Grey tea, my beloved giant jars of Target almonds, etc., etc., etc. Two hundred bucks' worth.
Checking out for the first load, I said to the cashier "I'm sorry for your bad news". She was clearly pissed off to be there, and threw my paper towels into the cart -- and I mean threw. It took her about thirty seconds to register what I had said, and then said thank you.
For the second round, I said the same thing to a different cashier, and it was immediately appreciated.
But yeah. Sooooo many people in the store, and people who had clearly never been there before, and were surprised at how nice a place it was. Fuck off.
A lot of empty shelves -- which I've never really seen at my Target (except on massively reduced items I was too late for). They're moving out merchandise already.
I'm already thinking of stuff I forgot to buy. Bar Keeper's Friend, especially. The only other place for that in Canada seems to be Williams Sonoma, at three times the price. But how many paper towels and toilet rolls can I fit in my basement, really?
