So I've booked a trip on the Queen Mary 2. Not the time of year I'd wanted, but my boss wasn't being very cooperative in allowing me two solid weeks off. This trip works out fairly well, in that I can keep the trip down to a week and a half.
Not thrilled about doing this with my mother, but let's face it -- when else was it ever going to happen? The single person fare is 175%, which makes an expensive trip laughably expensive.
And while it is expensive, it's not crazily so. With taxes and exchange rates, it comes down to less than $200 a night, which for any kind of luxury hotel and meals, is a very good deal indeed. You're not getting into the J.W. Marriott at Rosseau for that.
Sheltered balcony suite, rather than an open balcony. Advantages and disadvantages, I suppose.
I just want to sit there and read. Mom has been put on notice of that. We'll see how long that lasts -- I doubt very long at all.
