Engaged in another eBay auction, which is bad for me. I get way too competitive about these things, which is a lousy way of bidding. The impulse to win is too strong, and that only invites Disaster.
It is for a comtoise. I was supposed to have gotten my uncle's comtoise when he passed, but that didn't happen. My aunt (step-aunt?) found it easier to sell the whole of his family side stuff cheap to a wholesale auctioneer, rather than let the family take it (and I gladly would have paid FMV and shipping, plus extra for her time). But that didn't happen, and now I have no comtoise.
So there's a cheap one out there. They go for nextto nothing in Europe, but try getting it from there to here.
So far I'm in the lead, for $40 CAD, plus $150 shipping or so. And if it works, great, and if not, that's fine, too. I would like one, but I am running out of wall. And I havetoo many clocks, it's true.
Still a while to go. It's a struggle not to get too invested in it. Ebay is a bad place for me.
