Not that it makes any difference in a budget the size of the Canadian government, but $1.1 mil to promote seal products?
As someone who doesn't even have a problem with the seal hunt, what's that for? Whatever happened to "let the marketplace decide"? And let me guess -- we're still subsidizing the asbestos industry, too, right?
I'm guessing that the cuts to the contingency fund actually means that this isn't a surplus budget after all, but another deficit budget, bailed out by money we would have put into the fund. As someone who doesn't even have a problem with deficit budgets, what's that for?
Plus ca change. Nothing to be done about it, other than gassing up before the budget got released, just like every year.
And just because I feel like being trollish when budget time comes around -- once again, it's up to unmarried, no-child, no deductions people like me to subsidize everyone else's lifestyle choices.
