Turns out that Air Transat now does cheap flights to Paris. MY Paris. $774 return.
And it also turns out that my preferred apartment hotel in La Defense has gone back down in price, to the silly price of $64 Canadian a night. For fucking PARIS.
This might mean the return of my Annual Trip to Paris. Back when Zoom Airlines was flying, it was stupid cheap -- $99 each way, plus taxes, so six-something. Air Transat has (finally) stepped unto the breach, years later. My hotel was $72 a night, which was already a stupid price back then -- it's absurd now. You try getting a hotel for $64 a night in, oh, say Kingston. Unpossible.
Of course, with this year's trip on the Boat, both my wallet and my vaccay time have pretty much maxed out.
But it is an option. It's the return of a beloved option. I did this for a few years in a row, until Zoom went bust, and it became financially impossible. Now -- seven years (?) later, it might be coming back.
I'm checking out the menus at Chartier right now, looking for all my favourites.
