Ungh. This guy.
Don't let lower city 'hijack' transportation plan: Whitehead
Nevermind that his comments aren't backed by things like "facts" and "reality" -- the Mountain has reaped a pretty big share of road work over the past term, despite being lesser used than King and Main, which have been postponed because we're waiting for LRT, which this guy is fighting -- but there's this lovely gem of a quote:
“It concerns me that… two thirds of the population is located outside the lower city corridor and yet the majority of your consultation to start with is in the lower city,” Whitehead said.
I'm going to play that on a loop the next time we talk about moving group homes and halfway houses out of the lower city, and distributing them so every part of the city carries their fair share.
Two-thirds of Hamilton isn't the lower city, remember? We should be starting with you!
Somehow, I think he'll have forgotten he said this then.
