Ungh. Trying to buy travel insurance through CAA.
I have the same problem as I always have -- that when I'm in the insurance part, I try to enter my membership number to get the discount, but the site won't recognize it. If I go the other way, by logging in as a member, and then trying to buy the travel insurance, it kicks me out. I can log in as a member, so the problem is with the insurance part.
And all to get that five percent discount.
For a day trip, I wouldn't bother. But for the Boat, it actually makes a difference. Now I have to go down to CAA on Saturday (the only time they're open which works for me), and do it in person. Dundurn plaza is busy on any given day, but the Saturday of Easter weekend? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
The site put forward the option of buying a year's travel insurance, for only twice the cost of what I would be paying for this one trip. Seemed like a good idea -- buy it, and forget it. Then it became clear that the year's coverage is only fifteen days in total, and this trip will eat up thirteen of that.
In summary, CAA's e-commerce website stinks, and has for years. How do businesses work with this crap?
