Something I'd rather suspected:
Experience: I regret my face tattoo
‘People stereotype me as a thug, or someone who thinks they’re a big deal. I’m not like that at all’
Something I'd suspected -- that tattoos in and of themselves may not be as addictive as getting a tattoo:
"...at one stage I was having one tattoo a week. The stinging pain and burning sensation can be addictive. And the more you get, the more bearable the sensation. It makes you relax, as the pain triggers your body to release endorphins."
Not true for everyone, I suppose. And I'm glad that I was always too indecisive as to decide what I would have gotten. All of my leading candidates -- there's not a one which I would still want on me now.
That said, once I sail the Atlantic, I am entitled to wear (according to the traditional code) an anchor tattoo. And I won't say I haven't thought about it. (That I will be sailing the Atlantic in a deck chair, Gibson in hand, rather than manning the ropes or stoking the boiler is a technicality not addressed by the code.)
But yeah -- facial tattoo? Unfortunate.
