Ungh. Toronto lawyers.
In a situation now where a Toronto lawyer might have killed a deal for her client, simply by pushing too hard, for too much.
It's a pretty small deal, and the margins are slim. My guy can't do a deal spending thousands on legal fees and still have that deal be profitable for him. And these negotiations are always reflective of the business relationship to come.
But yeah. Toronto lawyers. So often they're focused on impressing their client, that they lose sight of the actual work at hand. We just want to get a deal done, and if you can't focus your concerns to three or four main points, rather than literally hundreds of changes, then perhaps there's no deal to be made.
