Check out this project that blurs the lines between street art, galleries, collectors, and creators...
ADAFuckngallery - a pop up, free trade/post gallery in San Francisco, is quickly becoming my favorite community (art) project that I've seen in quite some time. Check it out on instagram (and now one ello) at @adafuckngallery to see what I mean.
Originally started by SF Artist, Matt Delight aka SICKLIFE, in a dead-end alley in the Tenderloin neighborhood, ADA has now grown to 3 additional San Francisco locations, and 2 east coast walls in Philadelphia.
Documented primarily through Instagram, there are loads of doodles, sketches, quick collages, little paintings and altered photos, that are taped up to the walls and immortalized through social media... then traded, given away, and mailed into unassuming hands of renegade "collectors" by passersby or devoted cult followers.
Local artist and owner of The Space Between Gallery, Chris Farris,(who is also a frequent contributor to the Tenderloin gallery wall), may have said it best -
"Adafuckngallery... where anyone can show and all the art is free! Be an artist, be a curator, be a collector of fine thought provoking items, be them all today!"
So check em out! Hell, start your own ADA! #ADAfuckngallery #AlwaysDoingArt
