My paintings are photo-realistic nudes of my friends, lovers and women I admire, sometimes from a considerable distance.
I start with either a photo already taken (perhaps by a lover) or I stage my own impromptu photoshoot. NYC rooftops, the more illegal the better, make for excellent backdrops for moonlit nudes.
After layering my photo selections with texture, color, light and filters I achieve a plan for what I will paint. I use oils on canvas but I also love playing with gold leaf and saturated drips and washes of paint.
