Is Monday gettin’ all up in your mix and making you feel sad and blue? Don’t worry Mister Ed - it’s #FunkMongerMonday ! Today’s funk comes in the form of everybody's favourite horse shaped boy - Matthew the Horse.
For week 19 of #FunkMongerMonday I wanted to talk some flannel about this here fella because his work will kick your Monday blues in the junk and they won’t be around no more - know what I mean? I’ve been a fan of Matt’s work for longer than a French stick sellotaped to the end of another French stick. See, I buy bread by the yard, which is useful ‘cos that’s also how I measure how much I like things. Matt’s style is so wicked cool it’ll turn your hands into feet and your feet into realistic plasticine models of Kiera Knightley - in a good way of course! He also writes poems that make you cry tears of hunger and slap both your knees while you laugh four and a half times.
If you are a fan of tubes then you’ll have seen the project he did for Crabbies which is shown on the walls of some fancy tubes with trains inside underneath London. There are a bunch of folk all holding hands and singing songs of freedom - marvellous! Don’t take my word for it though, go and have yourself a look see at Matt’s work and see it for your own big beautiful eyes. You’ll be glad you did - he’s mongerin’ funk all over the gaff!
