I stumbled across a new person to follow on @ello yesterday so I thought I'd post a little note and ask folks if they had any recommendations for me. I had a great response, and a lot of you guys suggested some awesome accounts to check out, which I did for a few/too many hours last night. I got talking to a few people, and a good friend asked why I didn't just go to the community directory and look through there to find inspiration. Ello is really well designed to find new people to discover and follow, but for me, there is nothing quite like a recommendation. I want to know who people are being inspired by, what excites them and all of that good stuff. I can't have a conversation with a community directory! I've been thinking about it a lot this morning, and I think it's really interesting that even in a time where an algorithm can give you exactly what you want before you necessarily know you want it, a suggestion from a human is worth so much more. What do you guys think?
Maybe that's why I prefer Ello to any other social media platforms.
Anyway, if you got involved yesterday then thank you - it's people like you that make this place so great!
