I love art supplies more than an omelette loves cheese. Just ask it - it’s truer than a blue canoe! Every Sunday I’ll grab some stuff out of the art box and we’ll talk it out like Trisha.
Today’s #StuffOnSunday is all about this here CD marker by Edding. Now, the Edding 8400 is my secret weapon - I probably use this pen more than any other in my art box. It’s a CD/DVD pen for writing on disks, but it’s all kinds of awesome for drawing on paper with. It dries quicker than a pickle flavoured sticker, it doesn’t smudge, and the nib suits my drawing style perfectly. You can get a line that ranges from 0.5mm to 2mm, which doesn’t sound huge, but it’s plenty when you’re working on some teeny tiny details. I discovered the Edding 8400 completely by accident a few years ago when I didn’t have any other pens on me, and since then I must have gone through about 20 of the little rascals. The only slight downside that I’ve found is that you have to break ‘em in - they reach their sweet spot when they’re about a quarter used up. If you ever see a pack of these magic little pens around, then take a punt on them - they’re surprisingly good to draw with. If you’ve found any hidden gems then speak up Winston - share that knowledge out like a hat full of Laffy Taffy! Until then, stay tuned like a tuning fork for next week’s #StuffOnSunday !
