Catherine Bruce (@catherinebruce)
For the last two decades, I have been experimenting with 35mm negative/transparency film, in color and in black & white. I began when I received my first camera, a Pentax K1000, and studied the subject in high school.
At Bennington college, my studies were short but influential. From 1999 to 2001, I studied under photographers, Maxine Henryson, Jonathan Kline and James B. Abbott; artists, Tony Caruthers and Barry Bartlett; and poetess, Mary Oliver.
My work reflects my mission to blur the line between photography and painting.
Since 2016, I have lived in Berlin, Germany. I am an active member of two art collectives, Stattlab e.V. and Foto Klub Kollektiv.
Location: Berlin, Germany
