My name is Connie Woo, a visual artist born in China in 1994 and currently based in LA. Although I received a bachelor degree on Management in China, this restless passion on visual art leads me to another significant life path. Right after graduation, I came to U.S. for my MFA program in San Francisco Art Institute. Justifying both renunciation and commitment in timeless fantasy and reality through my exploration of spiritual ego, I live to resist and obey.
Eye してる is a series of three images that visually combine eyeballs with other objects. The name comes from Japenese 愛(pronounced as ai i)してる, which means I love you. While eyes meet eyes, the contact is no longer important (cannot even be made to be honest), instead, eyes itself becomes the representation of the objectification and it's almost impossible to tell who is taking over the mind. What even is watching? Does watching even have a subject?
