My work is a continuous investigation about the connection between nature and memory through a dreamlike language with a particular affinity to intricacy and detail. The female figure is the protagonist, whether figurative or implied, seeking varying definitions of the female experience.
Organic forms present a balance between the figurative and ethereal, inspired by literature, botanical illustration, the Panamanian tropic, and the influence color has over the spirit. The predominant medium is ink on paper, yet my multidisciplinary approach allows recurring themes to exist on canvas, murals, and textiles. My representations have origin in the spiritual and

His artistic and communicative form of expression is deeply influenced by his academic education. However, the way he combines colour, lines and surface is truly authentic.
André Lemos Pinto's works have been regularly on exhibitions since 2000, both in Portugal and abroad, and have been awarded several prizes during that period. I love to make up new worlds. Creatures, human figures, plant life, machines, etc. Sometimes it is purely about making a beautiful mark or shape, a simple pattern with a pleasing rhythm. My work always emerges as a surprise to me and everything I do is made up organically as I go along. I love the dreamlike feeling I get from working this way. This subconscious, meditative approach to making work keeps me curious and flexible in the studio and each and every day there are new discoveries.

‘What really went on there? We only have this excerpt’
The worlds I paint are imaginative. The paintings originate from dreamlike ideas that pop up in my head.
The origine of these images can be texts, music or other paintings.
During painting, anything can arise and change in the painting. Eventually an image emerges in which the composition, use of color and figuration form a wondrous individuality.
