Time for an update
The only thing I know is that time flies since my last update and hiatus alert - the world has flipped completely. I hope that no one has caught Covid19 (neither your family extended or not or group of friends). I was already confined most of the time home and thankfully my husband can do his work from home (granted as a special privilege to take care of me). A month later? The NYC + MONTREAL offices are closed indefinitely - every employee doing remote work.
Needless to say my heart goes out to families where both parents work and now share caretaking of their child or children. Can’t imagine the additional stress and workload added. You guys rock!
In Montreal - the province government deserves a huge hats off for their celerity in deploying sensible measures and how to avoid a full exponential growth of the epidemic. We had our first confirmed death as well - my heart goes to the heartbroken family. It seems she had been in contact with a recent traveller. Needless to say protect the most vulnerable - this time around seniors and those attained with auto-immune diseases as is my case.
I err between highs of huge energy and complete breakdowns - crying and more helpless and vulnerable than ever in my life. And my dear -I had a few rough - very rough spots in my life. This one is likely to be the crown of them all.
As my nurse said: I am nowhere near a plateau (in ref with the med protocol I take) - she thinks most likely in 10-12 months. Till then the improvements will not be on a up up up curve but rather a seesaw one: big ups + big downs. So the best for me is to use all my energy to pursue three new projects and when weak - take it to bed and sleep.
The three projects are very exciting:
a) A new series of 12 canvases of different sizes and orientations all growing in simultaneous sittings. Today started sitting 4 - but only did one canvas. So that step will take a while. To make room for all the new canvases - I packed and removed most of the corridor gallery like. It’s a fabulous experience so far based on a commission whereas I used a new color palette and paint technique. TBF
b) inherited a huge 27" Mac workstation with which I intend to finish sorting my huge artist bank of work. So far 10-12 GB left of the 75 GB + you get the idea - all sorted in over 165 different directories. When done my previous backups will be deleted and new copied to an hard disk. Then editing remainder and finding final selection to stage because I intend to launch artist portfolio in 2020.
c) We had an idea for a podcast series half-interview half-monologues followed by one of our songs - most probably written for the occasion. We are at podcast no 3 and are quite motivated. The mixing and final musical production will be professional yet minimalist. More On this later.
So in closing @ellodesign and @elloabstract are on temporary hiatus. Hopefully to return in a few months. Stay healthy everyone.
