It's been 4 months since his tenth and hardly a word, in even the local media, except to say that it was a homicide. Not a single detail on the method was ever mentioned. So much work went into that last one, he was sure they would eventually start giving his efforts more coverage. Time to get back to work.
A steady rain can be heard dancing on the tin roof as he ties off his last sand bag. He's all set now. 20 sandbags tied to sharp panes of glass, suspended from the ceiling in a perfect line. His victim, another 20 something young lady with blonde hair, stretched out on the floor directly below the the glass panes.
Her hands tied above her head to a post that's been bolted to the floor. He was careful not to tied her hands too tight as not to leave a mark on her wrists. Her feet tied together and tied to another post a few inches below her feet.
With a simple cut of a string the sandbags would one by one empty of sand and allow a pane of sharp glass to fall from the ceiling. He looks over everything to make sure all goes as planned. A check of the cables to ensure the timing, a quick look at the camera that's been set up to capture the newest masterpiece.
Everything looks in order. It's showtime. His euphoria starts to build as he grabs the scissors and slowly approaches the string that's holding it all in place. This is the one he thinks to himself. They have to recognize his twisted brilliance now. They can't deny him after this. How many times can they ignore him? Sure the first few were a little sloppy, but even an amateur sleuth could tell they were all connected.
Bringing the scissors to the string he feels nearly orgasmic, he takes one last look up at the star of the show and gives a cynical wink and snips the string. The sand starts slowly emptying from the first bag. It methodically rises one inch a minute. He times it with a stop watch with one hand while holding his black mask close to his face with the other.
The bag rises off the ground further and further until it juts quickly to the ceiling as the pane falls rapidly to the floor. Two minutes on the dot. Each bag should fall every two minutes. With a sickening sound the star of the show succeeds in making contact and reaching the padded groove below his victims ankles.
Elated with the success of his newest creation he leans over and looks into the camera and gives it a wave as his victim withers in agony as planned. This has to be the one! This is the one they will be talking about for years to come...
