DIA's creative director Mitch Paone @dia_mitch will giving a lecture at Loyola University New Orleans on Friday April 17th about his journey from a kid from Kansas City to running the NYC based brand consultancy and design studio DIA.
In the lecture “Balls over Brains” Mitch will be discussing his philosophy of pushing for guts or “ballsiness” in creative work which has been formed by creative people he has been inspired by, his mentors, and the city’s he’s lived in. Additionally, as a jazz musician Mitch will be drawing parallels in how music’s emotional quality can be achieved in a great piece of design. While the title may suggest a critical stance on academic training through the lecture Mitch will show it’s quite the opposite.
Charlie Parker couldn’t have said it any better!
“Master your instrument, Master the music, and then forget all that shit and just play.”
