Photo tip of the day: Be there when the light is good. The most amazing places will give your camera a hard time during mid day in summer when the sun is up high in the sky. There are two "golden hours" in the day, around sunrise (plus one or two hours, depending where you are on the planet) and before sunset. I know that for some (especially us artsy types) it might be hard to get up early. It is for me. But it's more than worth it if you look at your photos later. Doing this together with a group of photographers helps tremendously. You could have a cup of coffee, shoot for two hours, then have breakfast and enjoy the mid-day sun with a nice siesta. By catching the morning light, you're doubling your chances on that day to get awesome pictures.
