This was a compilation album made to market a quirky shibuyakei band in the US and the rest of the world, and besides the character on that sticker, it contained no graphics and simple text in its presentation. The inside contained another sticker, a "club card" that cloned American Express, and a booklet with lyric translations written in the same sans-graphic design as the outside of the case.
The music on the CD was presented as a near-gapless run through all of the tracks, despite assaulting the listener with different genres with little preparation, occasionally a voiceover or sample gives a subtle reminder of what you are listening to: "A new stereophonic sound spectacular!"
Certainly not the first album to do this, the ending is designed to make it easy to restart from the beginning and listen as repeatedly as the listener would like.
I wanted all of those aesthetic aspects in my project, and the title is not a coincidence.
Since I was not going to present the virtual singers as cartoons anywhere in the design, they are instead represented by the colored squares across the top, which represent hair colors.
