Weaving is my meditation.
I don’t like symmetry. I never have a set plan. Each weave intuitively evolves; an emotion, a thought, a narrative, converged into a tangible woven piece.

Julia Kwon sews interpretative bojagi—Korean object-wrapping cloths historically created since the early Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910)—and wraps hallow human-scale figures with them to comment on the objectification of Asiatic female bodies. Further, she embeds patterns from contemporary sociopolitical events to challenge the notion of authenticity and examine the complexities of constructing identity within the context of globalism, cultural hybridity, and intersectionality. I’m a creative from Australia. By day I work as a freelance designer and photographer. After hours and on the weekend I run my blog driftandwander.com.au and explore whatever natural or urban wilderness I can find, camera in hand.
I always try and live creatively and photography has taught me to see everyday life in angles, lines of perspective and shades of light. The slight turn of a head, the subtle reflection of afternoon light, incredibly simple moments that most people would pass by inspire me to shoot, discover and explore. I’m never happier than when I’m wandering along a mountain ridge or coastline, camera in hand, seeing what can inspire me. It’s
