Hello, long time no Ello, amirite? Even worse, I'm popping up to ask for help. Rude!
Anyway, the daughter of an old client has a big opportunity to get into a fancy pants performing arts school for theatre, and I have been asked to help with her audition prep -- and I haven't been onstage in many years, so it's a bit of a "visually-impaired leading the blind" sort of situation. I'm very rusty.
Anyway, having not read a new, contemporary script in over a decade, can any of you recommend any relatively recent plays featuring younger teenage girls as characters? Comedy or drama, musicals, anything. I'm looking to read scripts published after 1950 to help her find audition and portfolio material. It's a challenge, because frankly it doesn't seem like good, young female roles are much more plentiful than when I was her age.
I would just write her a decent audition monologue, but it has to be from a published play, so that's out.
Any suggestions welcome! Thanks, you guys.
