"Yosemite's Afternoon Glow"
Ribbon Falls, Yosemite National Park, CA
One of my favorite parks in the US is Yosemite, which is truly an easy choice. The park itself embodies just about every bit of iconic natural landscape that you think of when you say the words "National Park" in the US. Between El Capitan, Yosemite Falls and Half Dome (let alone the rest of the park), there is a lot to love. However because it is so popular, I enjoy looking for smaller more intimate moments in the park. Areas that don't get the same love as the big icons but are just as beautiful. One such location is Ribbon Falls. While it too flows in the late winter and early spring like the rest of the waterfalls in the park, it is dominated by massive granite face of El Capitan (which is directly east of the falls). In the later afternoon during spring, light will dance across its rock face, creating a beautiful scene like the one you see here.
