Mumbai, India. Aarey Colony.
Contrasts are interesting. If we forget about the controversies surrounding Aarey for a moment, we'll see that Aarey is full of contrasts (many of which are the reasons for said controversies). #streetphotography
We can begin with the buildings and millions of people surrounding Aarey, which is mainly comprised of forest and farmland. Within Aarey, are villages consisting of a few dozen families and largely closely knit communities dependent on one another in some cases (two villages may share the same well, for instance). Outside its borders in the city of Mumbai, millions of people are scattered in private residences, many of whom came to settle from outside of Maharashtra.
Granted there are easily spotted visual contrasts but this fails in comparison to the number of things we all share. The biggest factor being the very air we breathe, something that Aarey and Sanjay Gandhi National Park supply to an otherwise ultra-polluted cityscape.
