I became acquainted with French and Persian book illumination when I was a student, very fascinating! Then I painted lots of landscapes and a bit larger pieces but now, but retrospectively many of them are still miniatures, though in a larger combination and frame. In the literally sense of storybooks illuminations tell tales, every detail does.
When I decided to paint one image every day it was inevitable to reduce something, to become even more minimalistic, to allot time to capture the essence. So I paint a miniature every day - fabulous, funny, touching - or just kind of pop art stuff.

My work explores the relationship between transparencies and opacities and their successive, infinite number of shades, textures and colours.
I make stitched drawings using recycled fabrics collected and preserved with the only intention of cutting, layering and stitching them in a way that aims to capture light, contrast and depth.
The tactile contrasts obtained by the graphic stitched lines and the source materials that I use, like the organza, translate the essential drive and inspiration of my current artwork.

Weaving is my meditation.
I don’t like symmetry. I never have a set plan. Each weave intuitively evolves; an emotion, a thought, a narrative, converged into a tangible woven piece.
