'black = not equal black'
Fundamental to my photography is a striving to understand the dichotomy between the visible and the invisible.
I have always been fascinated with the concept of 'black' isn't really black. It changes its appearances and shades with light. In order to see black, one needs the colour spectrum of light. The invisible light makes the black visible.
I work predominently with mixed media, whereby photography is my main source. Images are shot on film, polaroids and or scanned. Occasionally images are physically changed and partially overpainted to create a new image.
