Ryder Erickson is an Inupiaq Eskimo artist and musician, raised in the Alaska villages of Savoonga, St. Michael, and Unalakleet, with close family ties in Barrow and Shishmaref.
After a life changing back injury and surgery at just 21 years old, Ryder eventually took up his guitar and paintbrush to make a living. With his work, Ryder strives to promote the beauty of growing up in remote Alaska and the way of life for those who reside in it.
Ryder married his grandmother’s best friend’s daughter, Annette R. Koutchak; they happily and proudly live the village lifestyle with their children in Unalakleet.
