For this project, I focused on the relationship between nature and man made structures in a developed area. The pictures were taken in Savannah, Georgia, which is an old historic town that is a mix between postmodern and modern architecture. I found vines growing on almost all the buildings, squares and parks every few blocks, among other interesting relationships between the natural and unnatural aspects of the world. It seemed like the two were almost at war with each other and that is how I came to the idea and content of my project. Image 1 is of a battle scene where green vines are on one side and a digitally created army tank and dark foreboding clouds advance on them, already successfully killing some vines and turning them brown. The second image is the defeat of nature in another scene where a square has a COA sign. This sign is saying that the people have decided to remove and tear down the plants in the middle of the square in order to put a historical monument which is a marble and concrete man made statue. This is a loss for nature and a victory for man so I have depicted Pan, the greek god associated with nature, post battle with wounds and in defeat. @setareh_gh
