Ello is about communicating and connecting in ways that may not be conventional or even obvious. Much of the communicating is conducted in the language of images. Some is by commentary, writing, criticism. The amount of original work and ideas is stunning. There are curators, but very little re-posting just to fill a feed. Most important, there is little here on Ello that is trivial or superficial, although, paradoxically, some is cleverly intentionally so. The flow of images, ideas, and the variety of experience on Ello is remarkably different what one is likely to find elsewhere, it is an opportunity to be allowed to peek into fine minds, curious spirits, and open hearts, to see surprises and messages of hope from everywhere in the world. Ello reminds me of the bazaar, the community market that exist in many parts of the world, the buzzing cacophony of people interacting, the sight and sound of fascinating artifacts, the stream of ideas, tantalizing music, and a transformation to a sophisticated community composed of those who intend to be citizens of the world rather than the sort of parochial people who are content to remain within the cocoon of their own culture of origin and the comfort of familiar viewpoints and conventional ideas.
