Laying bricks properly is not just a matter of thoughtlessly throwing one row of bricks on top of another. The bricks must overlap row by row so that the brick-ends do not stack one above another. The stress of non-overlapping bricks has cracked or crushed the brick below and created a weak spot in the wall. Mortar was left drooling over the bricks. This poorly made wall became a monument to poor workmanship and careless attitude.
