When I first started creating sculpture I observed it was regular working class folks who seemed drawn to my work—everyday blue- and white-collar workers, taxi cab drivers, cops, musicians, even prostitutes and pimps. So I started installing my sculptures in public spaces—first in places like banks and mall lobbies—eventually receiving permanent commissioned street installations.
My traveling spirit, driven by my love and interest for all kinds of cultures and peoples, feeds my work. I find of particular interest the universal human spirit that I’ve witnessed in many cultures—a spirit that can rise above natural disasters and ongoing wars and poverty and s
