1) I was watching citizens' live feed from the protests this weekend in Portland, OR.
A truly disgusting display. The ONLY ones who acquitted themselves admirably were the law enforcement personnel on hand. I have subsequently read in the Huffpost that many are accusing the police of being harder on those who came with violent intent than they were on the demonstrators that were the targets of violence. Huh? I'm not sure who the original demonstrators were, they were referred to as "White Nationalists" in all the major news outlets, but given "big Media's" demonstrated mendacity of late, I'm left wondering..........
But these same news outlets were laying the blame for the violence on both groups, as well as referring to the vicious mob as "protesters". FAKE NEWS. The fact is, if the original marchers were ignored, no one outside of downtown Portland would have ever known of their existence. Instead, the faux "counter-protesters" show up with a great number of them intent on violent confrontation, and provide a national platform for themselves and the original marchers. Not to mention some red-meat video footage which is bound to end up in campaigns this fall.
2) I'm not a baseball guy but the Red Sox sure have grabbed my attention
3) If you ask me a hundred times to name my top five favorite songs ever, you may get a hundred different lists. The ONLY song that would be in every list is Bob Marley's "Redemption Song". It is a powerful, heartfelt, affirmation of life in the face of cruel fate and cruelty. A call out to the conscience. NO ONE has ever covered it properly.....The song requires Marley's "Vulnerable Invincibility", his pleading call to action.
4) Is anyone else's garden producing a bumper crop of tomatoes?
