Tonite is the opening of AUSTERITY MEASURES. I am overwhelmed sometimes at the possibilities of art. I am overwhelmed with the possibilities of language and the opportunity to be able to work so closely with three amazing minds/egos/spirits: mars dietz, will elder, & keyon gaskin. We've spent the last few months listening, watching, waiting, & peering out into a country we feel a familiar connection, but whose history and trajectory has left us feeling estranged, vulnerable, belittled, & furious.
And so we move toward language & art. And we gather strength from the diseased landscape of stolen lands, cyber landscapes, & the policing of our bodies, ideas/opinions, political allegiance, & time management.
Count back from 10.
What's on your mind.
Spread your legs.
If you are in Portland, please, come out to the opening.

"We are reaching into spaces postmarked for death and freedom
We are brothers and sisters together in this fight
To dismantle borders and toxic history books
We reached for words instead of knives"
