Yesterday, I went on a bit of a mission after work. I really wanted to start venturing out further from home to fill in some gaps for my abstract project. I hopped on the train and decided to hit three Queens neighborhoods: Ozone Park, Broad Channel, and Far Rockaway. Thankfully, they are all on the way to each other.
I snapped this in Broad Channel, which is probably the least city-like part of Queens that I've ever been to. It's also the most patriotic...there were so many flags per square foot that it actually made me feel a bit weird.
Anyway, as I was heading back to the train station, I spotted this shuttle train, which heads out to Rockaway Park. A scene like this might not be so uncommon with a locomotive, but I thought it was kinda neat to see an NYC train out among the water and grass.
