Hola! I’m Carmela, a Brazilian illustrator & GIF-maker in Barcelona.
My work is often bold, colorful and lighthearted, but it's also very important to me to touch on issues I'm passionate about, making sure to be as diverse, inclusive, and accessible as possible.
Through my work, I strive to break down paradigms and stereotypes about bodies, portraying women who are confident, strong, present, badass, and who take up space.
I also love bringing some humor into my illustrations, so you might find some ladies sitting on toilets scrolling through their phones :)

Steven Cabral is a Boston-based painter and has shown his work in several group exhibitions in the greater Boston area, and he is a member of the Vernon Street artists’ community in Somerville, Massachusetts as well as the Brickbottom Artist Association. Steven holds a BFA in painting from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and he currently lives and works in Somerville.
