My Ciudad Natal series portrays the reconstruction of the community of Downtown Los Angeles by covering contemporary images with the facade of old age and the look of old film stock or damaged photographic plates. Each photograph has one element that is set apart from the rest or isolated. It is a feeling that can be all too familiar, even in a city of 4 million people.
My love affair with photography began when I was gifted a Kodak Ektralite camera for my 10th birthday. Today I shoot mostly still life and portraits in my native Los Angeles, shining a light on the uniqueness and individuality inherent in all things. @useformat
