My paintings combine natural excess with my own nostalgia. When you look at pond water under a microscope, it can be overwhelmingly filled with various organisms, yet it still appears natural. I cram organic shapes of different colors and textures into my paintings in order to create an excessive and organic composition. I've always been interested in the magnitude of biodiversity on Earth, and convey this fascination through abstraction. I merge my physically abstract paintings with the abstract concept of nostalgia by linking the compositions to subtle, but lasting moments in my life.
