Something you won't find in any guide about Liège (at least not the ones I saw) is a series of dead end streets that all start from Rue Hors-Chateau and end under the Northern hill (just under the citadel.) The Liègois call it les Impasses and there are about a dozen of them. Street probably is not a good name, as anything bigger than a bicycle won't fit these alleys. It is really something strange: you are no more than 5 minutes walking from the heart of the city, yet the peace and tranquility is enormous...
