THE LAST DOLLAR RANCH
Another shot from the 2017 Colorado Fall Color Tour, this one from the Last Dollar Ranch in Telluride, CO. This ranch is famous for being the Ross Ranch in the 1969 movie True Grit with John Wayne. Apparently, the Ross Ranch still exists, but is not visible from the road - being private property, that was our only image option. Good news was the view from the road was plenty good even without the ranch.
Beautiful fencing (one of my favorite photographic subjects), wonderful grassy fields and the Sneffels Mountain Range make the site quite easy to photograph. In this case, I liked the angle of the fence far to the left of the ranch entrance and it also had the highest grass which really sets off the foreground of the image!
