Our descent from a dark hike up to Winchester Mountain was filled with several moments of frustration and awe. I had a flannel wrapped around my face, bug spray in my contact lens, and swarm of Canadian flies on my eye lids fighting to get under my shirt. But, in the midst of swatting and cursing, the decision to stop and admire was too obvious. Derek strode to the ridge and traversed out to a view covered with smoke. Still, Goat Mountain made it’s grand appearance. & still, we determined the trip was well worth the pain // 17.08.05
