I flew to Spokane late Friday night with the sole intention of spending time with my girlfriend, Katie. I went with no grand plan to explore or create photographs throughout the weekend. But with hours before my departure Sunday afternoon, we became anxious and impulsively drove out to the palouse. Katie had received a text earlier in the morning warning of an intense storm that was going to hit the city. In all honesty, this excited me. And as we began to drive out highway 195, I could tell I wasn’t the only one excited. We arrived at the exit we had taken once before, for a shoot last spring, and began to immerse ourselves in the blankness that was the palouse. Here are a few moments captured from our excursion into evanescent desolation.
