Margareta (-Plywood construction-plywood and fishing line, 48.5cm x 28.5cm x 38cm, Dirk Marwig 2014)
- Sometimes ‘it’ just happens: with my kind of twisted logic I cut various leftover pieces of plywood at a particular angle, assorted the cut pieces according to size and then started sewing the pieces together. Without thinking or expecting anything great to happen I then connected the 2 extremes and to my surprise, suddenly came the idea. I cut a few more pieces and the idea came to life: the object you see in the photo. 'Arte Povera'... During the construction “it” fell 3 times from my work table to the ground- “it” never broke or cracked despite it’s fragile appearance. The architecture 'static' works. It will not fall over. Solid.
-There are so many cool angles, I just chose this photo because it's the most representative.
