RED SEATFELD CHAIR
(Lacquered Plywood, Dirk Marwig 1997)
This chair from 1997 is based on the "Rietveld" 'Z' chair design. Using this design I also made a "Green" version(in the background) and a 'version' out of 'old' skis. You can see it in the small photo. I called it "Skietveld". All are good to sit on (functional). Unfortunately many photos of my older work have gone 'lost'-sad thing. This 'Red SEATVELD" chair was photographed last year in Madrid, Spain.
You can see how the chair is constructed just by looking at the joints. Only glue and wood dowels were used. Because of the nature of plywood the chair has a natural 'bounce' to it, ie: it is not rigid and is comfortable to sit on.
