Saturday it was an intese day. A 24hrs trip where I went through so many emotions, thoughts, experiences. It was delightful to talk at Fotonica, thank you to everybody who were there. It was a four hours lecture, the longest I ever held. We talked about glitch art, data, information, art experimentation and research, the infinite creative opportunities for those working with the digital matter. We talked about the politics behind social media, algorithms, planned obscolescence, internet culture, activism and more. After this experience at the MACRO - Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Roma I am even more sure that glitch art is really great for discussing and addressing many topics and probably the best art genre/practice to learn and discover our contemporary world and be critical about it, constructive and propositive for it. Glitch art is not just about art, it is about the world we live in, we deal with everyday and that will influence our whole existence. Events like Fotonica are essential to discover the opportunities out there and how we can really imagine and build a better society through art. Art won't save the world but art festivals and art events could be of a great help. Then we went to Contemporary Cluster, an art space that saturday night was also the set for Massive Attack's Daddy G dj set and there is nothing I love more than music and art. The building where Contempory Cluster is it's just beautiful, an old institutional building of astonishing architecture that now is the scenario for contemporary culture events and artistic experimentations, from fashion to new media, design and street art and graffiti putting together the hardcore and underground mentalities with the trendiest and glamorous life styles and parties. In one word, art. Then we moved on to Strike spa Roma for a techno underground party, and it felt like to be in some sort of cyberpunk cult b-movie where the most friendly, peaceful and diversified people, survivors of catastrophic events, live together in the most hostile and precarious conditions and dream of a better world. Thank you to the crew of Manifesto delle Visioni Parallele for inviting me and taking me around the city. See you soon Roma!
