Moreton & a new doggie on tour!
After a fun weekend we headed south, back home to Moreton (http://www.thedairycampsite.com), where it was a bit muddy and we might have mucked the grass up a tinsy winsy bit! Oops! Daddy’s fault apparently!
Being back, things were their usual hectic self, involving lots of work and visiting people. On Tuesday we went to nanny & grandads and mummy went to visit her nans too. Then it was time for kickboxing. I really don’t know why we aren’t allowed in too. I think they are worried we will kick their butts! By Wednesday I was in need of a rest.
Then we found out that little Jaimie had died, mummy’s brothers families little King Charles Spaniel. He was only 8 but got very ill. We were all very sad and mummy went round to see them. Then when she came home, we went for a walk and had lots of cuddles.
On Thursday Jim decided he needed a lie in too!
Then we went with mummy to get the car MOT’d as daddy was busy. Mummy got in trouble though as it came away with 3 warnings and daddy never got warnings on the MOT! Good job it’s going in for a service on Monday!
Then we went for a walk with nanny & grandad and home for more cuddles with scratchy!
On Friday daddy had to go to a meeting all day, so we headed to nanny & grandads, and left scratchy sunning himself on the bed
Mummy is learning to knit and Daisy decided she was going to help
When we got home Jim decided he was going to eat some dinner, I really don’t know why he eats it lying down like this sometimes. He is just strange!
After a busy day of running, opticians & Thame food festival on Saturday, we decided to be lazy on Sunday
But daddy had other ideas, so off we went for a walk at Cadsden
where we saw the cows too
When we got back our friend Andy came round for some tea and Scratchy went for a walk
Then daddy made some yummy gluten & dairy free veggie pizzas
On Monday daddy took the car to TopCats for a service and we stayed home with mummy. Mummy decided she was going to learn to crochet so started making a granny blanket from the alpaca wool she got cheap from the charity shop. Fingers crossed it’s for me, although it’s not really my colour!
On Tuesday daddy had another meeting so grandad came and got us and we went round there for the day. Mummy went to get some more alpaca wool but it had all gone so the blanket might not be very big! Nanny was very impressed with mummy’s crochet! When daddy got home we went kickboxing and daddy found an oil leak from the diff….oh dear!
Wednesday was a vet check where they found out I had a gum infection….antib’s for me. Scratchy had some tests down on the growth on his leg and Jim was fine. We had gone for our jabs but mummy got the dates wrong and we were a couple of months early…lucky us! Then daddy took the car back to TopCats who fixed the diff oil leak and then we went out for dinner with Roxi and Ricky. It was one of the pubs we run from, The Lions at Bledlow, so we went for a walk first and then we went in and had dinner with them too. It was really good as Rik gave me lots of scraps! Scratchy stayed home all day after the trauma of going to the vets.
So Thursday is my special day….it’s my gotcha day! I got mummy and daddy 9 years ago today…aren’t they lucky! Unfortunately I wasn’t feeling too well in the morning but I soon brightened up when the ball came out to play!
Jim loves chasing me, and I chase the ball. It’s a great game we have!
Scratchy even came out to join in
On Friday Uncle Joe called to tell us Scratchy’s growth was Ok and then Roxi & Ricky came round with their new baby Aeron. He was cute but a bit small to play with!
On Saturday we went running and then went to Nanny & Grandads and mummy’s brother Marc and his family came round to play. Maisie decided to give Daisy a hair do! When we got home daddy forgot to give me my anti b and I wasn’t going to remind him. Hehe!!
After a well deserved lie in on Sunday we went for a walk to Coombe Hill
Unfortunately we couldn’t park so we parked down by Chequers instead. It was such a nice day, everyone was out
On Monday I had another lie in, I tell you it is very tiring being back home!
Jim was a bit chilly so he wrapped himself up in mummy’s blanket, with a little bit of help from mummy!
Scratchy however was keen to go exploring and mummy let him out off the lead, but kept calling him every five seconds to make sure he hadn’t got lost!
And later on we went for a walk round the golf club and bumped into Andy & Olive from the running group. They were running so mummy and daddy felt very lazy for walking!
On Tuesday mummy and nanny went to this new group they found called knit and natter and they really enjoyed it. Daddy was at a meeting so when mummy got back we went for a walk with grandad up Lodge Hill, then we all headed home for kickboxing
On Wednesday grandad wanted to go for another long walk (trying to be healthy I think!), so we went for a 6.6mile walk round Lodge Hill and the Lions at Bledlow and when we got home mummy dragged daddy out for a walk too! These were some fish we saw on our walk. Molly and Daisy love them and then Daisy fell in……that was really funny!! Grandad grabbed her by the scruff before she got stuck under the bridge. Apparently it was quite scary but I laughed!
On Thursday grandad wanted to go for another walk so we did 8.6 miles and stopped at the Lions for a beer and chips!
Daddy was at meetings again and when he got home he was very ill with man flu. Mummy gave him no sympathy but she did dose him up with vitamin C and honey, lemon and ginger drinks. On Friday we had a day of rest and stayed home to look after daddy, who had kept us up all night feeling ill!
On Saturday we went running without daddy, as he was too ill, and mummy was not very sympathetic when telling the guys at running why daddy wasn’t there. And yes she got punished. When we got back mummy very quickly started to get the man flu. Ooops! Everything was a bit weird with mummy and daddy ill, even Jim shared his bed with Scratchy!
On Sunday Scratchy made me get up as mummy was going to the knitting show with nanny on a coach. That was not the best idea as she wasn’t well, but they had fun and bought lots! Whilst they were out, daddy, who was feeling lots better (nothing to do with him giving it to mummy!), took grandad on an 11 mile very hilly walk. Grandad was very tired after that! We loved it!
On Monday mummy really wasn’t very well so we all stayed in bed apart from daddy who had some work issues to deal with.
When we got up we all went over to pets at home as mummy had received a call that she was very excited about. We all got new beds and then popped round to see Auntie Debi who was ill too. We mustn’t go near her when we have germs so we just said hello on the doorstep! Jimmy had cuddles with the sheets nanny made scratchy when we got home!
On Tuesday mummy was still ill and possibly getting worse! Daddy had to go shopping and do all the chores and he was rubbish! Then he went kickboxing without mummy! Meanwhile we were trying out our new beds and scratchy decided to join me
When I got rid of Scratchy, Jim joined me. I just want my own bed!
On Wednesday we were back at the vets for a follow up. Bad news….I need an op! Scratchy was OK, but I was being booked in for dental work. Sounds painful. Mummy gave me lots of cuddles, whilst crocheting and cuddling scratchy too!
Wowsa’s its 5am….why are we awake so early??
We drove to the local services and waited a while. Then a van turned up. Mummy & daddy got out and spoke to the man. Then they bring this dog that has just peed herself, and put her in the car. Jim was very scared but I think this other dog was more scared. She looked petrified. We got her home and she hid in the bathroom. Mummy & daddy called her Bess. She was very young, less than a year and very scared of people but seemed ok with us
After mummy showered her, cos she stank, she ventured out of the bathroom and into the hall with Jim as her guard
gradually she gained the confidence to come into the lounge and found a bed
Turns out Bess isn’t house trained. That was a fun first night keep getting up to clean up. Jim seemed more keen on her today though and they played lots
I stayed in bed out of the way
She really was growing in confidence already but still very wary of people other than mummy and daddy
Scratchy wasn’t sure what to make of her. She loved him and wanted to kiss him, but Scratchy didn’t feel the same way!
After lots of walks, trying to housetrain Bess, we went to see Auntie Debi, and Jim & Bess seemed very settled on the floor
whilst I had cuddles on the sofa with Auntie Debi! Then we went to meet nanny & grandad, molly & Daisy which all went well, and then we took Bess to meet Uncle Joe and he thought she was good and got the green light on health. He gave her some anti inflammatory’s to help her as she had just been spayed. But other than that, she was great!
On Saturday daddy took me and Jim running, but as mummy was still recovering and we didn’t know how Bess would cope with all the people and having been spayed, mummy and Bess went for a walk with grandad, Molly & Daisy. Bess even met the fish!
Then we went for a walk with Claire and Daniel over in Oxford at Port Meadow
and mummy and daddy went in for a cuppa, whilst we sat nicely in the car!
Bess seems to like the car and is calming Jimmy down a bit on journeys which is good
she even uses him as a pillow
On Sunday we spent hours walking but Bess really wasn’t getting the memo and would just pee and poo in the van when we got home. At least mummy had bought training pads now so clearing up was easier! Nanny came over for dinner and met Bess. She wasn’t sure to start with but then nanny nearly got a cuddle from her! On Monday work started on the campsite to put the new road in. They had to level the ground first. The machines looked fun!
However, it was time for us to go. So we finished the chores, packed up and headed off to see some friends. How exciting….we were only going to see Andrew & Dougal…wahoo!! Until next time, Love & Licks, Rosie xxx PS Bess would like to say a very shy hello xxx
