Cotswolds with Nanny, Harley & Belle
Where have they taken us this time? Granted it seems a nice site, near Bibury in the Cotswolds (http://www.greenacrescl.co.uk/index.html), but….we cant reach the emptying points for the tanks…..mummy and daddy watched a stupid DVD by some comedian who wasn’t funny …..and then to top it all off, there were fireworks!!! We HATE fireworks. Ok so it’s the Saturday after Guy Fawkes night, but PLEASE give us a break. Here is Jim hiding under donkey to try to escape from the fireworks. He also has his thunder jacket on, and mummy gave us some magic medicine to try to help, but as you can see, Jim is still petrified. I wish people didn’t like fireworks so much!
On Sunday, we went for a lovely walk up Cleeve Hill, which is our favourite walk in the Cotswolds. We walked all around it and up and down a few times too, for good measure! The weather wasn’t great but there was a slight break in the clouds over Cheltenham
Then we went to a pub to meet some friends Andy & Kate, who had travelled up from Bath to see us. The food was very good and the pub loved us so kept giving us biscuits, as mummy wouldn’t share her dinner!
On Monday, I was so tired I spent most of the day sleeping
On Tuesday, Nanny arrived with Harley and Belle, so we took them for a walk up Cleeve Hill on Wednesday, although we didn’t go as far, or do any of the ups and downs as Harley has bad hips. Here is Harley waiting for us by a bench as he was always running ahead and finding the way!
We did however still go to the pub after for dinner, so got lots of treats again.
On Thursday we had to move Pebbles to empty the tanks and Scratchy decided he was going to help, so we put his harness on and mummy carried him around. It was quite a palaver as we couldn’t get the van through the gate as it was a sharp right turn onto the track. Luckily with a bit of help from the owner moving the electric fence, and turning it off, and unhitching and re hitching to get a better angle, and mummy and nanny leaning on the gate to open it as wide as possible, we eventually got through and emptied the tanks. I’m sure it shouldn’t have been that difficult, daddy just needs to learn to drive! Lucky nanny turned up when she did as she had been out sheeping with Belle, as she’s a border collie and likes to boss the sheep around. As a thank you to nanny for helping us move the van we rewarded her with alfresco dining!! I think she enjoyed it. We stayed in the warm!
On Friday, nanny and mummy popped down the road to Bibury, which mummy still pronounces wrong, to see some famous sites
Then we went back to the lovely pub, The Inn at Fossebridge (http://www.cotswolds-country-pub-hotel.co.uk) , and did a long walk from the pub and then went back in for lunch. We really do like that pub! Think mummy and daddy were making the most of it as we haven’t been to a pub for months. I’m sure we weren’t that bad last time we went in one. We do tend to walk past a lot of them though, and I always try to sneak in, but mummy pulls me back. Could get used to this!
So then it was Saturday, and we all packed up in the rain and headed off. Nanny, Harley and Belle went back home, and we went off on another adventure. So, until next time, love & licks Rosie xxxx
