Northern Airstream Meet
Wahoo…..looks like it’s another Airstream meet. We do like these. We were the 5th to arrive, if you don’t count Tanya & Dave, who’s field it was. In total there were eleven airstreams varying from very vintage to very new, small to big, and shiny to mirror finish!
After a late night round the campfire, on Saturday we chilled out by Pebbles, talked to lots of people, tried to kill a few passing dogs and daddy worked. Boo!! We were all so chilled out, even Scratchy came out to explore, although he steered clear of the other doggies.
There were quite a few children there too this time, who had fun playing all sorts of games, and even had a dunk in the pool. Mummy and daddy were helping them play hide and seek and Scratchy tried to join in, but no one looked for him!
Then the big kids decided to play with something in the sky, I believe it is called a drone. Well as you all know, I don’t like these things in the sky, so I went nuts and mummy got very stressed out with me. I think I hurt her a lot when I was struggling to get to kill it. Mummy bribed us with biscuits but it didn’t work very well, so in the end we got sent to our beds to calm down and think about what we had just done. To be fair bed does seem to work. Darn…..will have to come up with some way of stopping that from working! Here is a picture that mummy stole from Adam to show you all why I hate these drones.
In the evening we had a big BBQ and campfire. I snuggled up with mummy when it got cold, so I was fine. Jim had fun playing with his new girlfriend Molly (don’t tell Daisy!), unfortunately as most of the other dogs were boys, apart from sweet little Elizabeth, all the other boys took a fancy to Molly too, so Jim was way down the pecking order as usual. He was so sad, as he really liked Molly. Even little Toby was higher up than him. Merlin was top dog when it came to Molly and even had a “disco dance with his lipstick out” with her. I think they both liked that by their mummy and daddy’s tried to stop them! I wonder if Molly will have puppies sooner than they planned! This is Molly….personally I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I’m much better looking!
On Sunday we just chilled, having cooked breakfast outside again, Scratchy was happy just sunning himself
He even shared the blanket with me, he was that relaxed about life. That’s what airstream meets are all about, relaxing and meeting new and old friends.
Some people started to leave on the Sunday afternoon, but we were staying for the duration. So, once we had said goodbye to those that were off, we grabbed a quick BBQ and then we all headed to the local for a pub quiz. We did very well, although mummy kept trying to cheat and ask Google all the answers, but turns out Google got a lot of them wrong too. So unfortunately, we only came second, but it was a really fun evening and we had chips too!
So it’s Monday morning and the last few remaining Airstreamers packed up and left Tanya and Dave to get back to their normal lives. There was a bit of dilemma as to how to get out of the gates as some people had got stuck leaving, but some people also made it look easy. Turns out daddy made it look easy too, but he cheated. Dave took one of the gates off for him, to give him more room! Favouritism! So mummy and daddy are both cheats! There was also a road closed, but luckily Kerry called back and told us, so we could avoid it. So we said our goodbyes and hit the road. We do love a good Airstream meet, Looking forward to the Outer Hebrides already. Until next time, love and licks, Rosie xxxxx
