Back Home - Temporarily
Having been on the road for 17 months, we were moving back into our house for a couple of months. The tenants had left the house in a bit of a state and their dog had chewed lots of things and left lots of presents in the garden but we soon sorted all that out and covered up his scent! Bess had never been to the house before and so it was all new, but she seemed to settle in very quickly!
She even stole Scratchy’s bed
Then Jimmy decided to try it out too….silly Jimmy, you’re too big!
Bess was struggling with the amount of people around so mummy was working hard on the walk to and from the park to distract her and get her used to walking passed people. She is fine in the park playing ball but not on the lead. After all the training she needed a lie down in Scratchy’s bed again!
Then summonsed up the energy to terrorise Scratchy!
Scratchy had to go back to the vets as he had a stitch sticking out from his recent operation on his paw so he needed lots of cuddles when he got home
The next day we all went to nanny and grandads as mummy and daddy had jobs to do at nanny Carols. I managed to cut my tail, but no one knows how! Then Scratchy took all the cuddles cos of his silly paw, when I’ve got a bad tail. That’s so unfair!
Then we went back to Nanny & Grandads again on Sunday, as there were more jobs to do at nanny Carol’s
Then Nanny, Harley and Belle came round for dinner and Harley stole Jim’s bed
On Monday my tail was looking bad so we had to go to the vets to get tablets and this silly collar
Meanwhile Bess still wanted to be Scratchy’s best friend!
On Tuesday I’d managed to get to my tail and pulled the skin off so we went back to the vets to get it checked out and to get a bigger collar…oops!
Meanwhile Scratchy was still getting all the cuddles!
On Wednesday we went for a walk with Grandad, Molly & Daisy and saw the fish
and I found a nice stick to play with
Grandad thought a photo pf Molly and Daisy on the haystack would look nice, but it didn’t come out very well
Then we went out for dinner with Rox and Rik and had some scrummy food
Mummy was out all day on Thursday and daddy was very stressed with work and missed the fact Bess needed the garden so she peed on the bed! Oops….all the spare bedding was in the wash as mummy had only just changed it so we ended up using blankets instead
and we had some comforting beans on toast for dinner which mummy had her new gluten free beer with, which was very nice apparently
Generally, mummy and daddy have been working on refurbing Pebbles whilst we have been in the house, so they stripped her all out, scraped all the paint off and pulled the floor out and put her back together again, but the scrapping off the paint was a long and tiring job! So, on valentine’s day mummy went to visit family for Julie’s birthday and saw some parakeets and then went kickboxing in the evening where daddy kicked mummy quite badly. She was not impressed at having a bruised arm for a valentine’s day present!
Scratchy was still after attention
and Bess was still tired after all the training on walks to the park
And I was trying to get all the attention cos my tail was still bad!
Here’s an update pic of Pebbles with some of the white paint taken off
I decided to try two beds for size and it was very comfy!
Then we went round nanny & grandads for the day and in the evening I licked the scab off my tail which was apparently a bad thing to do!!
On Monday Scratchy tried to help mummy with her crochet!
Then on Tuesday knit and natter had a demo to show the locals what they do for charity causes
Wednesday was daddy’s birthday so a very special day!! Bess decided to give him a lovely present by stamping on him in bed and that made him squirm in pain. Oops! I on the other hand decided to give him lots of kisses which he should like but apparently he didn’t! Then we went to the local donkey sanctuary and saw some chicks
Then came back via Watlington hill for a walk but it was very windy and a big tree had come down
Then mummy and daddy went out for dinner and the lovely restaurant did this for daddy, however they must have had a drink cos neither of them noticed the typo!
The next day mummy and daddy weren’t feeling so good so nanny came over to see scratchy and take mummy into town shopping!
By Saturday Jimmy was very tired and missing running club but grateful to be in bed still
I even let him share my bed, or rather I let him share his bed with me!!
After a week of more stripping paint, we managed to start painting and choose the flooring which we tried against the furniture before fitting it
Saturday was nanny’s birthday and they all came over to walk in our park as Daisy had been rushed to the vets the night before and it turned out to be she had been stung by lots of stinging nettles over her field so they were avoiding them.
After some more busy days Scratchy just wanted a cuddle
meanwhile Daisy stole my bed
After 5 weeks in the house Scratchy was finally allowed out in the garden on his own, now that his leg had healed and the weather was nice
We needed a livestock trailer for various reasons so went to pick that up one day which was really boring and a very long day in the car
Then on Saturday we did the flooring in Pebbles and I supervised
I also kept guard as a couple of people I didn’t like the look of came snooping round asking suspicious questions. Good job I’m a good guard dog and didn’t try to lick them to death!
We finished most of the flooring in the one day
The flooring was finished on Sunday so we spent some time in the garden where Bess destroyed Jimmy’s favourite toy which nanny had just bought him to replace the one that got lost when we originally moved out of the house
On Wednesday our friends Andrew and Dougal came round to see us which was lovely. We took them to the park though and there were mums drinking with their kids in the play area and drunken arguments, it really wasn’t very nice and reminded us why we don’t want to live here anymore. So, we went home and played there instead and Dougal had lots of cuddles
By the end of the weekend Pebbles was really coming together
Mainly due to my supervision
Oops we got caught red handed! All of us terrorising poor Scratchy. If only mummy knew the truth about how much he teases us!
After all the supervising and terrorising I decided to take it easy in the sun
Believe it or not, we managed to get Wilma (livestock trailer) on the drive next to Pebbles
Sunday was Mother’s day so we went round to see both Nanny’s and Bess played lots with Daisy
and I decided to try all three beds out and wow it was so comfy
On Monday Scratchy got even more adventurous in the garden
Mainly to get away from Bess
And we put Wilma into storage with her brand new cover
After lots of running around and cleaning and packing, on Wednesday we left the house for good and took our home, Pebbles, off travelling again. Until next time, love and licks Rosie xxxxx
